STORM KING MARINE REMAINS LEVEL IN TOUGH TIMES
Experience counts. With over 80 years of compined experience(3 people) Storm King Marine saw this economic crunch coming 3Q 2006 and planned for a slow 2008 and 2009. 1Q 2010 starts a new 5-8 year run, until the next burp.
Good planning can certainly predict and plan for a slowing of sales based on all the indicators provided by the industry. It boggles my mind why human wannabe instinct wants to beleive ya-ha time will never end. They always do. Its called a cycle. Why throw tons of money at the problem and then wonder what to do. Planning the slow-down event can be, and is painful, but the aftermath lets owners enjoy a good nights sleep.
Storm King Marine has demonstated how to get through these times encountering no debt. Remember 1+1 = 2 (not like Wall Street—1+1 = what do you want it to equal)
YOUR WORLD IS NOT ENDING
As the economy cycles its not a rosy picture, how ever there is always a plan. Do we do the same type of cycle every 10 years. wheither you are a boater or an rv’er you don’t have to bail out because of the cost of fuel. You never cared about a few hundred dollars before, so why now? Ah—–because many other commodities around have also gone up. so what’s the answer. Take shorter trips, cut down on the deli trip for the whole neighborhood, and certainly don’t need to impress the world. For the friends with fish hooks in their pockets, ask them to contribute a little. just bring something—food-beer-snacks-etc. The people who always mooch, and don’t come unless there is something directly available for them like(they bring their friends)—Don’t invite them. Make so new friends that are trying to accomplish the same things you are. You would be surprised, true friends work together and do not need to impress anybody. It makes life more enjoyable and stress-free. I’m seeing people tring to enjoy themselves on a down to earth basis by radiating its not cool to be reckless with money. Be smart, what ever your sport of recreaction is—-slow down and you will probably go faster.
BOATS WHOLESALE TO THE PUBLIC
Boats wholesale to the public is an interesting approach to selling for less as long as the customer knows and understands the rules. Customers that are in the catergory of the “key turn delivered mode” can’t expect all the services at a reduced price. Consumers understand deep discounts with dings, dents, and open boxes. Boats wholesale to the public can result in great savings based on “As Is/Where Is”. An inspection or survey may be in line. If the buyer could save thousands but would have to spend a few hundred dollars in odds and ends wouldn’t that make sense?? You have to act like a wholesaler. Dealers and Brokers don’t feel comfortable with nit pickers, and that long endless entitlement list. Storm King Marine found that building relationships and helping the customer understand how to save money is key. To view our inventory online go to www.StormKingMarine.com.
