Repo’s can be great deals if you can (as a retail buyer) understand the repo process, as well as the “as is process”, cash buyer process, the responsibility of the repo buyer, and the long tedious paperwork process. 80 years of combined experience lets us understand that no one
buys a “pig in a poke”. We continuously hear “I would like a great deal but” what about the scrapes, dings, crunches, outdrive condition, upholstery tears and damage, dull gelcoat, canvas repairs, hazed isinglass, missing electronics, batteries, necessary services, launching, no starts, burnt out impellers, generator issues, air conditioning issues, computer/alarm issues, and on and on. Storm King Marine has perfected these issues with their “In the Water, with all Systems Operating” and “Factoring in your Wish List of Extras” where ever possible, to make you buying experience a pleasurable one. Buyers always seem to favor the “In the Water with all Systems Operating”.
When considering a repo, we suggest that you add it all up, and please don’t be alarmed by the number. When considering NADA Values (The Nations Guide To Value’s In The Marketplace) please take all into consideration ie: Engines, Options, Condition, Market Area, and “Ready to Go” condition.
Chaparral

Chaparral is a boating company that was established back in 1965 by William Pegg. Initially, the name was Fiberglass Fabricators and creating fiberglass was all that the company did. But then things started to evolve so the fifteen feet Tri-Hull model was released with a price of $675. Just two years after the first facility was established in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, fire destroyed it, so the company had to rebuilt it. In 1976, Chaparral Boats was getting too big for this facility, the company was expanding, producing more and more boats, so they had to move to another production facility. Luck was with them this time as in the very same year, Larsen Boats filed for bankruptcy, so their manufacturing facility in Nashville became available.
Soon after the re-location in 1976, James Lane joined the company as President, a position that he still holds nowadays. The management team of Buck Pegg and James Lane have led the company to a 31-year pattern of growth and expansion and now Chaparral is one of the world’s largest independent boatbuilders. Under the guidance of Lane, Chaparral became among the first boat companies to use computer-controlled inventory tracking. Initially, the facility in Nashville was 37,000-square-foot large, and now it has grown to cover some 425,000 square feet. The network of dealers includes more than 130 shops across the US and more than 50 international dealerships. Chaparral now employs over 500 people.
Chaparral Boats is definitely one of the best companies in the boating industry and their track record speaks for itself. In 2008, the truly phenomenal 284 Sunesta won Chaparral their ninth Boat of The Year Award. Chaparral is on top when it comes to styling, performance, innovation and value. Over the years of its existence, Chaparral has won more than 30 awards for product excellence, an achievement that few other companies can claim. In addition to that, in 2008, Chaparral earned the NMMA’s prestigious Customer Satisfaction Index award, not just as a company, but for every line of boats they build. The company has more than 250,000 satisfied customers around the world, which should serve as a proof that if quality and value is what you are looking for, then Chaparral is the boat of choice.
The highlights of the Chaparral’s new 2009 line of boats are the four next-generation SSI Wide Tech family bowriders. These boats feature great styling, unmatched efficiency, space galore, extreme quality, integrated swim platforms, digital dashboards and bow seating.
